Description: This is an advanced course in Greek archaeology. Our main concern is the structural, political, and conceptual rise of the Greek polis (the Greek city-state). We will explore this theme through various aspects of
archaeology, art, history, and literature of the Early Iron Age and early Archaic period (ca. 1200-600 B.C.).
