The Ancient Text of Homer
A fragment of an 1st-century B.C. papyrus from the Duke University Papyrus Archive shows what an ancient text of Homer would have looked like: note the lack of spaces between words!
This piece is from book 22 of the Iliad (p. 545 of Fagles' translation, starting at his line 132), where Hector debates whether to stand and fight as Achilles rushes upon him.
